The Highly Effective Job Search Series – Getting the Interview….and Nailing It!
February 10 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This seven-part series covering key aspects of job search will be offered Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in February.
The Highly Effective Job Search Series is a part of the Career & Networking Center’s Career Development Program and does have a cost of $50 for all 7 sessions.
Getting the Interview . . . and Nailing It!
The interview can get you the job, but how do you get the interview? For that matter, how do you get the phone screen that leads to an interview? And how do you write an effective resume and cover letter that will help get that phone screen? It all comes down to . . . every step of the job search process . . . persuasive communications.
You will leave this presentation with practical tools that will help you get the interview and nail it. Our focus will be on the importance of addressing the audience’s needs in the job search “selling” process . . . the What’s In It For Me? . . . by crafting and delivering messages that make it clear that you bring strengths to the hiring company that will add real value. The presentation and handouts will highlight three key communications aspects of the job search: the 15-20 second “value statement;” developing targeted/effective messages for cover letters and interviews; and having the confidence to take control of the interview by anticipating and preparing to effectively deal with the “tough questions.”
